Celebrating International Women’s Day at Healthcare Central London: Inspiring Leadership

International Women’s Day (IWD) is a time to celebrate the achievements of women and recognise the challenges they continue to overcome.

Every year on 8th March, people around the world honour the contributions of women in all fields while reaffirming the importance of equity and inclusion.

Women have made significant progress over the years, but it’s important to acknowledge the struggles that paved the way for these gains. These include barriers to education, healthcare, science, and leadership. Women have continually shown resilience and determination.

However, the journey is far from over. Globally, women still face inequities in leadership opportunities, pay gaps, and representation across key industries.

At Healthcare Central London (HCL), we are proud to work alongside inspiring women who drive change and shape the future of healthcare. Our board includes six dynamic women leading with vision and purpose:

  • Kirstie Black, Managing Director
  • Dr. Afsana Safa, Borough Medical Director, Clinical Director, and GP Partner
  • Dr. Jan Maniera, Borough Deputy Chief Medical Officer and Clinical Director for South Westminster PCN
  • Dr. Sheila Neogi, Chair of South Westminster PCN
  • Siobhan Browne, Chair of Regent Health PCN
  • Ruth Sandu, Practice Manager

These women—and many others at every level in HCL —remind us of the strength, passion, and determination women bring to leadership. They pave the way for future generations, showing that leadership is a path open to all who dream and work for it.

As we celebrate IWD, take a moment to reflect on the incredible women who have made a difference in your life. Whether they are colleagues, mentors, family members, or friends, let’s express our gratitude for their contributions and support.
