Enhanced Access Service

Do you find it difficult getting to your GP surgery during normal hours? As part of our mission to improve patient care, HCL’s Enhanced Access Service means that patients registered at our member Practices can see clinicians in the evenings and at weekends. These appointments take place at two hubs in Westminster and also online.

Where are the hubs and when are
they open?

HCL provides Enhanced Access hubs in the north and south of the borough:

  • South Westminster Centre for Health, St Georges House, 82 Vincent Square, London, SW1P 2PF (nearest tube: Pimlico): 6.30pm to 8pm on weekdays and 9am to 4pm on Saturdays
  • The Connaught Square Practice, 41 Connaught Square, St George’s Fields, London, W2 2HL (nearest tube: Marble Arch): 6.30pm to 8pm on weekdays and 9am to 4pm on Saturday
  • A remote telephone clinic also operates during weekdays 6.30pm to 8pm and 9am to 5pm on Saturdays.

Will the clinicians at the

hub have access to my medical records?

When you make an appointment at one of HCL’s Enhanced Access hubs, you’ll be asked for consent to share your medical records with clinicians at the hub to aid their diagnosis and treatment. If you choose not to consent, we’ll recommend that you see your own GP during normal hours.

What happens after my appointment?

Your GP will be able to see details of your Enhanced Access hub appointment on your medical records. If you require a prescription, this will usually be sent directly to your nominated pharmacy unless you advise the clinician otherwise. We’ll send you a text message asking for feedback about your appointment so we can continue to improve this out of hours service.

What kind of feedback have you had from patients?

“My appointment was bang on time. The GP was very thorough, clear and very kind.”

“A very good NHS Practice. All the doctors are caring, friendly and professional.”

“I was extremely grateful for the understanding and level of care shown by everyone on my visit which was completely resolved within the hour. Thank you.”
